Last weekend there was a WordCamp in Frankfurt (#wcfra, see last blog post: "Supporting the upcoming WordCamp Frankfurt 2016"). Some months ago the #WCFRA-organizers asked me to propose a session about "hosting" in common. Because I introduced myself to the Drupal community in 2009 on my first DrupalCamp also as a speaker I thought it would be nice to repeat this on my first WordCamp.

"hosting" is a huge theme so I decided to propose two sessions. One about "Ansible and server configuration" on experienced level and one about "managed hosting" on beginner level. They picked the second one with a complete (translated) title: "Managed Hosting: Compromises in security, flexibility, performance, and availability".

Next weekend (02.09.- 04.09.2016) there is a WordCamp (#wcfra) at the University of Frankfurt (campus Bockenheim). This is the first WordCamp in our hometown Frankfurt. This is a conference organized by WordPress-users. We are happy to support this camp in several ways.

Last weekend I was on FrOSCon the Free and Open Source (FOSS) Conference at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Science.

Since 2008 I visited this conference several times to meet FOSS communities. My first visit was motivated by a special Drupal track on FrOSCon and my first face-to-face contact to the Drupal community. Beside Drupal the FrOSCon is still important for me. There are many Open Source Communities without an own conference. And even if a community has it's own conference, the FrOSCon is a good place to get in touch.

Today is a very special day for us!

Not only because Drupal 8 is finally released but also because today our company "Nodegard GmbH" is founded at a german Notar. Until finishing the official foundation and being listed in the "Handelsregister", we are a "Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung in Gründung" (shortened as "GmbH i.G.").

The number 8 does not only describe the newest version of Drupal but that is also the number of years that our founder Carsten Logemann focuses on the Drupal webapplication framework. Today he is taking the next steps with his partners Martina Hirschpiel and Jennifer Lehr to be your experts in development, hosting and maintenance and become a technology partner for freelancer and other companies.
